Banijay Sells Danish Format to Spain

MADRID: Banijay International has sold Sex Academy, a format from Denmark, to Spain.

Spanish broadcaster Telecinco will have the Banijay Group company Cuarzo Producciones produce the 13×100-minute series Academia del Sexo, to premiere this fall.

The series has more than doubled the average audience share for its original broadcaster in Denmark, TV2 World. The show is popular in Norway as well.

Sex Academy is about eight couples that go back to school to learn about sex and improve their intimacy.

“We’re delighted that Telecinco has chosen to bring this fun, daring and open-minded format to Spain,” said Karoline Spodsberg, the managing director of Banijay International. “It’s had a phenomenal run in Scandinavia and we believe that it will enjoy a similar success in Spain.”
