LONDON, June 12: DIRECTV
is set to launch a four-hour block of BabyTV, the 24/7 network for infants and
toddlers under 3, for subscribers in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador,
Venezuela, Peru and Central America.
Deals are already in place
in Mexico, Bolivia, Panama, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Dominican
Republic and Curaçao, with BabyTV now reaching more than 11 million subscribers
in Latin America.
Liran Talit, the managing
director of the channel, said, “BabyTV has been pursuing aggressive growth
strategies worldwide and resultantly has seen numerous launches for its service
in the past months. This recent deal is clearly an important milestone for us,
and we are very happy to initiate this relationship with DIRECTV who is one of
the major players in the market.”
