Azureus Strikes Nat Geo Deal

PALO ALTO, February 26: Azureus has reached a deal that will
bring content from National Geographic Ventures (NGV) to its Zudeo digital
media platform.

Since launching in December, Azureus, which specializes in
the distribution of large files over the Internet, has shored up content
partnerships with BBC Worldwide, Bennett Media Worldwide and Starz Media. This
latest deal brings short- and long-form factual content from National
Geographic Ventures to the tentatively named platform Zudeo (www.zudeo.com). The short-form video clips will
feature animals, people and places, news and history. British users of the
service will have access to long-form titles like Pyramids of Death, King Tut’s Curse, Lost Kingdom of the Maya, Da Vinci’s Code Revealed and Surviving Everest, among others. A North American launch will follow
shortly.

Azureus’s platform, currently code-named Zudeo, says it
enables content providers to publish and distribute high resolution, long-form
content easily, securely and at minimal cost.
