SINGAPORE: SPE Networks — Asia continues its push for original local productions with the reality game-show format Minute to Win It for AXN India.

The show was produced for AXN by NBCU International in partnership with Malaysia’s Astro. The series is set to debut on AXN India on January 12, airing Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 p.m. The local version will be hosted by Indian actor and VJ Gaurav Kapoor. The Minute to Win It format launched on NBC in the U.S.

Ricky Ow, the senior VP and general manager for SPE Networks – Asia, said, “AXN has had previous successes with local productions like Who Dares Wins – India Special and Magic Asia: India, as well as pan-Asian productions like The Amazing Race Asia and Cyril: Simply Magic. I am sure Minute to Win It will also work very well in India, given the popularity of such game show formats—it is easy and fun for the contestants, as well as exciting and quirky for the viewers.”

Yvonne Pilkington, the senior VP of formats at NBCU International Television Production, added, “Minute to Win It is one of our top game show formats and is already sold to 32 territories internationally. Quality of content is critical to the NBC Universal brand and our format business, and we are building a center of production excellence for Minute to Win It in Asia to ensure delivery of a top-quality show that will bring viewers to AXN in droves.”
