Austrian Drama Delivers for ORF-Enterprise

ORF-Enterprise notched up a number of new deals at MIPCOM, where it introduced the latest season of the Austrian drama Fast Forward.

VOD platform Pantaflix signed a package deal for TV movies and series, including the hit Austrian crimes series K-Files as well as select episodes from Fast Forward. FTV Prima in the Czech Republic acquired 11 standalone movies from ORF’s Backwoods Crimes strand, in addition to four brand-new titles from the Scene of the Crime franchise. Discovery in Italy purchased another nine Scene of the Crime episodes for its channel Giallo.

Al Jazeera Documentary Channel picked up a multi-hour documentary package, which includes the 4K three-parter Wild Caribbean: Rhythms of Life and Highlife at Low Temperatures. Knowledge Network in Canada, RAI in Italy and RSI in Switzerland acquired the ORF Universum flagship title Sky River of the Himalayas.

A volume deal has also been secured with TRT in Turkey. TRT picked up several wildlife and nature documentaries, among them the award-winning productions Lionsrock: Return of the King and Vanishing Kings: Lions of the Namib II.

Russia-K went for a documentary and history package, including Wild Caribbean: Rhythms of Life, Stars and Stripes, Giants of the Atlantic: Azores and Maria Theresa: Europe’s Mother-in-Law.

SKY New Zealand secured a performance from the International Baroque Days, as well as a concert from the annual event Baroque Treasures: From Ospedale to Concordia. TV2000 in Italy landed the broadcast rights for the annual musical highlight Christmas in Vienna, as well as a package of concerts conducted by Maestro Herbert von Karajan.
