Australia’s ABC Kids Acquires Alien Clones

LOS ANGELES, March 21: ABC Kids in Australia has acquired
52×11-minute episodes of the animated comedy series Alien Clones from Outer
Space,
co-produced by Telescreen and
Suppertime Entertainment, for premiere in October 2008.

The series is based on the books published by Simon and
Schuster detailing the adventures of two 10-year-old twins named Barton and
Nancy Jamison who have to deal with alien clones who land in their hometown and
end up living in their attic. Written by comedy writer H.B. Homzie, the Alien
Clones
books have been a “Children’s
Book-of-The Month” selection and part of the acclaimed Newton Curriculum
Program that oversees the educational content of thousands of U.S. schools and
is funded by the “No Child Left Behind Act.”

Donna Andrews, in programming and acquisitions at ABC Kids,
noted: “We’re very excited about Alien Clones. We really appreciate how the series combines physical humor with such
wonderful, classic comedy devices as mistaken identity and misinterpretation,
to provide the age group with both fantastic wish fulfillment and a better
understanding of the everyday social issues they face.”
