LOS ANGELES: Arnold Schwarzenegger’s planned return to entertainment is on hold in the wake of revelations of an out-of-wedlock child and his separation from Maria Shriver, with production stopped on The Governator animated series.

"In light of recent events, A Squared Entertainment, POW, Stan Lee Comics, and Archie Comics, have stopped production on the Governator project," Andy Heyward’s A Squared Entertainment said in an emailed statement. There is no indication as to whether or not the show will be resurrected in the future.

The project was launched to much fanfare at MIPTV, where Schwarzenegger revealed plans for the upcoming animated multiplatform property. (You can watch his interview with World Screen here.)

Also on hold are his plans to return to movies. “Gov. Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines,” a statement released yesterday said.
