American Horror Story Delivers for FIC

LOS ANGELES/LONDON: The FX freshman hit American Horror Story delivered a total of 3.2 million viewers in 59 countries through its FOX International Channels (FIC) rollout.

The series, from Ryan Murphy (Nip/Tuck, Glee) and Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk, delivered an estimated average of a 5.9 rating across all metered markets in Europe and Latin America. FIC’s week-long rollout for the show started November 7 across Europe and Latin America. The premiere over-performed by more than 100 percent against channel average and outperformed the competition in key markets on the night.

In Argentina on FOX, the show ranked number one on all pay TV with a 1.53 percent rating. In Mexico, it was also number one on pay TV, with a 1.09 percent rating. This was also true in Colombia. In Europe, the show’s launch on FOX in Italy and Spain, FX in the U.K. and Foxlife in Bulgaria all saw strong performances.

“Numbers so strong, it’s scary,” said Hernan Lopez, the president and CEO of FOX International Channels. “American Horror Story has brought droves of new viewers to a killer global lineup, including The Walking Dead. With both shows renewed for another season, and our local lineups also fired up, we are looking forward to a great 2012."
