Alchemy Expands Executive Team

LOS ANGELES, February 14:
Producer-distributor Alchemy Television Group has added two new hires to its
executive team: Paul Fagan and Burrad Marsh.

Marsh will run series
development in the U.S., working out of the company’s Los Angeles office.
Alchemy’s current slate of series, which Marsh will begin working on, includes
the cop drama The Weight for
The Movie Network/Movie Central, the spy thriller The Informant for Network Ten Australia and the format Clara
Sheller
for France 2. He comes to
Alchemy from The Kaplan Stahler Gumer Braun Agency, which he joined in 2007.

As the in-house business
and legal-affairs director, Paul Fagan will manage all business development and
legal affairs for the company’s increasingly robust drama and reality
offerings. Fagan comes to Alchemy after 20 years at the BBC, where he acted as
the head of business and legal affairs in program acquisitions, responsible for
purchasing and contracting movies and series, as well as overseeing
relationships with the Hollywood majors and international rights holders. He
will be based in the London office.

Alchemy has seen a wave of
expansion over the past two years, growing from a four-partner operation to an
office of 16 employees. In the past year alone, Alchemy has greenlit more than
$150 million of new and original drama, and currently has three new mini-series
either in production or recently wrapped up: Burn Up, starring Bradley Whitford, Neve Campbell and
Rupert Penry-Jones; Diamonds,
an exposé of the gem industry; and Coco Chanel, starring Shirley MacLaine and Barbora Bobulova.

"We're committed to bringing only first-rate talent into our
company," said Alchemy’s CEO, Carrie Stein. "In Burrad and Paul,
we've acquired experienced and creative executives who can hit the ground
running, keep pace with the momentum we've already generated and accelerate as
new projects we're working on come to fruition."
