DOHA: Al Jazeera English correspondents are set to anchor live bulletins from Ground Zero in New York on September 11, as well as from the Pentagon and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, while also reporting live from locations such as Kabul, Baghdad, London, Bali, Madrid and Guantanamo Bay.

In addition to its live coverage of the anniversary events, Al Jazeera English will be airing feature-length documentaries commemorating the events as well. This includes a specially commissioned three-part series 9/11 Decade, directed and produced by Dominic Streatfeild. Al Jazeera’s Witness program will air Twin Towers: A View from New Jersey, chronicling a dentist’s 50,000 photos of the World Trade Center from its construction to destruction.

Al Anstey, the managing director of Al Jazeera English, said: "The 9/11 attacks massively shaped the world in the years that followed. Two wars took place, countless lives were lost, and trillions of dollars were spent. It was an important day and our team of global journalists are well placed to provide global context to a global event. It’s necessary to look not just at the day itself, but the impact that it had and continues to have."
