Al Jazeera English Rolls Out in India

NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met with Al Jazeera English chief Al Anstey in New Delhi as the news network announced its launch on Dish TV, adding 11.7 million homes to its distribution base.

With the rollout on the Zee Group-owned DTH operator, Al Jazeera English will be available in the family pack tier to over 48 million individuals. “We are delighted to be launching on Dish TV today,” said Anstey, the channel’s managing director. “India is an emerging leader in today’s globalized world, and a critical country for Al Jazeera English to broadcast across.
