ACT to Honor Cécile Bellemare & Jean-François Grenier

MONTREAL: At its Awards of Excellence Gala, to be held on May 27, the Alliance for Children and Television (ACT) will honor Cécile Bellemare with the Outstanding Achievement Award and Jean-François Grenier with the Emerging Talent Award.

Cécile Bellemare served as Radio-Canada’s director of youth and family programming from September 2003 to July 2009. She continues to strive to help this industry grow in Quebec and across Canada. The Emerging Talent Award, which is given to promising professionals 30 or younger whose achievements have made them a rising star in children’s programming, will be given to Jean-François Grenier. For the past few years, Grenier has been designing websites and developing television programs. He has also been hosting MusiMission on TFO, and he designed the program’s website as well.

ACT’s 2010 Awards of Excellence Gala, which will be held at Montreal’s Maison de Radio-Canada, is made possible with the financial assistance from CBC/Radio-Canada, as well as the Independent Production Fund, Télé-Québec, Vrak.tv, Caisse populaire de la Maison de Radio-Canada, the Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund, Pixcom, TFO, and Zone3.
