ABC OTVS Ups Exec to Digital Role

BURBANK: Carla Carpenter, the former VP and news director at ABC’s WPVI-TV in Philadelphia, has been promoted to senior VP of digital media of the ABC Owned Television Stations Group (OTVS).

Carpenter will report to Rebecca Campbell, the president of OTVS, and will be responsible for the development and implementation of station group strategies and initiatives involving the Internet, new digital channels, mobile and other evolving digital media. She will locally manage eight ABC-owned stations to support the expansion of digital content geared to their individual markets while working closely with senior digital media executives across the Disney/ABC Television Group.

Carpenter will be relocating to the ABC Owned Television Stations Group headquarters in Glendale. The group’s stations include WABC-TV in New York, KABC-TV in Los Angeles, WLS-TV in Chicago, WPVI-TV in Philadelphia, KGO-TV in San Francisco, KTRK-TV in Houston, WTVD-TV in Raleigh-Durham and KFSN-TV in Fresno. She joined WPVI-TV as VP and news director in 1997.
