ABC Orders More Wipeout, Taps New Co-Host for Fifth Season

BURBANK: ABC has given a fifth-season order for Wipeout, with TV personality Vanessa Minnillo to serve as a co-host.

ABC has signed on for Winter and Summer edition Wipeout episodes for 2011-12. The next season will also feature new camera technology. Minnillo, who rose to fame as co-host on MTV’s Total Request Live, will make her debut during Winter Wipeout.

Wipeout will air a special sneak peek on June 10, with the fourth summer season to launch on June 23. The current season is hosted by John Anderson, John Henson and co-host Jill Wagner, who Minnillo will be replacing.

“We will miss Jill, but are thrilled to welcome Vanessa to the team and excited to bring her enthusiasm to the show. She is a great host with a fun and natural energy that our viewers will love,” said Matt Kunitz, Wipeout creator and executive producer.
