ABC Hails Oscar Ratings

BURBANK: ABC’s broadcast of the 83rd annual Academy Awards ranks as TV’s most-watched entertainment telecast of the last year, and drew its second-largest audience since 2007.

Sunday’s broadcast attracted an average audience of 37.6 million total viewers and posted an 11.7 rating among adults 18 to 49. The Oscars retained nearly all of its audience year to year, with adults 18 to 34 (95 percent) and women 18 to 34 (98 percent). With the event, ABC reached an estimated 71.3 million unique viewers across the U.S.

Video viewers for the Oscar multiplatform experience jumped 29 percent year to year. Oscar.com and the Oscar Backstage Pass app notched up 3 million views.
