BURBANK: The dramas Switched at Birth and The Nine Lives of Chloe King and the comedy The Great State of Georgia are the newest original series to join ABC Family.

The one-hour scripted drama Switched at Birth tells the story of two teen girls who discover that they were accidentally switched as newborns in the hospital. One grew up in a wealthy family with two parents and a brother, while the other lost her hearing at an early age due to a case of meningitis and grew up with a single mother in a poor neighborhood. The two families meet and must learn how to live together for the sake of the girls.

The Nine Lives of Chloe King, also a one-hour scripted drama, centers on a girl who starts to develop heightened abilities and discovers she’s being pursued by a mysterious figure. She soon learns that she’s part of an ancient race that has been hunted by human assassins for millennia.

The half-hour multi-camera comedy The Great State of Georgia is an ABC Studios production. The show stars Raven-Symoné as Georgia, an aspiring actress with a larger-than-life personality, and her science geek best friend who try to make it in New York City.

“We continue to offer our Millennial viewers a rich and diverse mix of authentic, optimistic and heartfelt programming,” said Michael Riley, the president of ABC Family. “We’re excited about these new series and believe they will be great additions to an already strong slate that, at its core, is filled with engaging, strong, funny and relatable characters.”
