Aardman Goes Mobile with M1

BRISTOL, July 7: Aardman Animations has signed a deal to
distribute video content on Singapore mobile operator M1’s “Watch-a-Video”
service.

The arrangement was made by Starcut, the mobile content
publisher, on behalf of Aardman.

M1’s 3G customers will be able to access Aardman content on
Watch-a-Video, a customizable service that offers more than 20 video channels.
The Aardman titles to be included in the package are Wallace & Gromit
shorts, as well as clips from Angry Kid,
Creature Comforts, Morph
and Panic in the Village.

The Watch-a-Video service makes videos available at
scheduled download times. Other channels on the service include Discovery
Mobile, CNN Now in the News and Sports News.

Aardman looks to pursue wireless distribution in other
territories. The studio has created a range of video clips, wallpaper,
screensavers and ring tones, and has also started to develop new content specifically
for wireless and other new media platforms.

Sean Clarke, Aardman’s head of licensing and marketing,
states, “Aardman has looked to embrace the wireless platform, investing time
and money in creating content that works specifically in this space. We are
always looking together with our distributors, to support new forms of
delivering our content and are positive that this new service offered by M1
will allow consumers another user-friendly service to enjoy our work.”
