Bavaria Media Finds Opportunities at Discop

MUNICH, July 7: At Discop, Bavaria Media Television licensed
several of its programs into Central and Eastern European markets, most notably
the telenovela Storm of Love.

Storm of Love was
sold to Latvian Viasat 3 and Slovak STV, as well as to an unspecified net in
the Czech Republic. Format deals on the hit novela are pending, with
negotiations underway in Russia, Romania and Ukraine.

In addition, the series Vienna Crime Squad sold to stations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia;
deals in the Ukraine and Bulgaria are reportedly imminent. Bavaria’s movie and
mini-series slate also proved popular, with a Russian deal on The
Young Schiller and a Polish agreement on A
Pirate’s Heart. Antenna 1 in Romania
licensed The Secret of the Red House.
