Antena 3 on Board New Endemol Game Show

HILVERSUM: Endemol has received its first European commission on the new game show The Whole 19 Yards, with Spain’s Antena 3 on board for the format, which is also being piloted by CBS in the U.S.

Endemol Spain has been commissioned by Antena 3 to produce the show, Los Ultimos 20 Metros, for launch July 22. Endemol Spain is producing an initial season of six episodes for a prime-time slot. Created by Endemol UK and developed by Endemol USA for CBS, the game show has players competing to win a big cash prize by answering general-knowledge questions on the buzzer; however, the player and buzzer are separated by 19 yards of physical obstacles.

The Whole 19 Yards has all the makings of a global hit," said Paul Romer, Endemol’s global head of programming. "It is a brilliant format that is packed with drama, jeopardy and a large helping of comedy. It’s a show that the whole family can enjoy and I’ve no doubt that Spanish audiences will love it.”
