Tigress MD Takes BBC NHU Role

LONDON: Andrew Jackson, currently the managing director of Tigress, has been tapped to succeed Neil Nightingale as the head of the BBC’s acclaimed Natural History Unit.

Jackson takes over from Nightingale, who is stepping down from six years in the post to return to making programs. Jana Bennett, the director of BBC Vision, said of Jackson’s appointment:  "I am delighted that Andrew is joining the BBC in this important role leading the Natural History Unit, the centre of the best natural history film-making in the world. Andrew’s own track record demonstrates his enthusiasm and dedication to programs about the natural world. I am confident that Andrew will support the NHU in delivering ever more ambitious projects which deepen our appreciation of natural history and amaze us with the beauty of the world about us."

In his post, which he assumes this fall, Jackson reports to Tom Archer, the controller of factual production at the BBC.
