Lionsgate Extends NZ Output Deal

LOS ANGELES: Lionsgate Television International has renewed its output deal with Prime Television in New Zealand, covering a range of broadcast and cable network series as well as a number of first-run feature films.

The deal was brokered by Tim Stuart, the VP on international television for the Asia Pacific at Lionsgate, and Lisa Clements, the associate business manager at SKY Network Television. Announcing the deal, Craig Cegielski, the executive VP of programming and sales for international television at the independent studio, noted: “During the last five years, we’ve diligently focused on building the Lionsgate brand outside of the U.S. I’m very pleased to say that a deal of this magnitude with a widely respected broadcaster such as Prime Television New Zealand is a reflection of this type of effort.”

Prime’s channel manager, Karen Bieleski, added: “Lionsgate has firmly established itself as a producer and distributor of high quality programming in various genres around the globe. Thanks to this strategic volume deal we look forward to not only being able to share their series and films with our incredibly loyal television audience, but also utilizing this programming to attract new groups of viewers.”
