Power Presenting Big-Budget Action Dramas

LONDON: Included in Power’s action-packed lineup of thrillers and dramas for the L.A. Screenings is The Day of the Triffids, a contemporary take on John Wyndham’s international bestseller.

The 2×2-hour mini-series follows as a highly dangerous crop of plants mutate and turn against mankind. It stars Dougray Scott, Joely Richardson, Brian Cox, Vanessa Redgrave, Eddie Izzard and Jason Priestley. The disaster movie Ice watches as devastating weather patterns plunge the world’s temperatures into a steep decline, and a new ice age ensues.

The action thriller Puppet on a Chain is the story of a man caught between his own demons and an Amsterdam drug ring, as he strives against the odds to strike a devastating blow to the narcotics trade. Also in the thriller realm, Reverse Angle centers on a young women with amnesia scrambles to find who she is and why her life is in danger. Out of Control follows the investigation of a brutal murder, which leads to a potentially fatal love affair.

With more of an action bend, El Cid is a mini-series that chronicles the exploits of El Cid as he leads his men through some of the most formidable battles of all time. Another mini-series in the Power catalogue, continuing on its long-standing output deal with RHI Entertainment, is Knights of Bloodsteel, a fantasy adventure about the quest for an empowering, magical ore.

Power also presents The Catch, a fast-paced 13-part action drama following the exploits of an international crime-fighting organisation of ex-cons; The People’s Choice Awards, a live two-hour awards ceremony celebrating the publics’ favorite shows and stars; and As The World Turns, the long-running U.S. soap opera.
