ZDF Closes Central, Eastern European Deals

MAINZ, July 6: ZDF Enterprises closed several Central and
Eastern European sales at DISCOP last month, including extending and expanding
its output deal with TV Markiza.

The agreement with the Slovakian broadcaster provides for
annual sales of 40 TV movies and 66 series episodes, a total of 126 program
hours of fiction. In addition, 250 episodes of the telenovela Julia were sold to Viasat, which also took 52 episodes of
the teen series H2O—Just Add Water.

Deals are pending in the region for DVD rights to the ZDF classics
