CBeebies Slot for Zigby

MUNICH: Studio100 Media’s animated preschool series Zigby, which follows three young friends who live on a jungle island, has landed a spot in the CBeebies lineup.

The series is created by children’s author Brian Paterson and based on the Harper Collins Children’s books character Zigby, The Zebra Who Trots into Trouble. The show is co-produced by Avrill Stark Entertainment, Zebra Productions and Big Animation in association with Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Treehouse TV. The 52×11-minute, 3-D animated series, targeted at 3- to 5-year-olds, is set to air later this year.

Kay Benbow, CBeebies’ head of production, acquistions and animation, said, “We’re delighted to have this beautifully animated series on CBeebies.”

Patrick Elmendorff, the managing director of Studio100 Media, added, “We have built a great working relationship with the BBC both as co-producers and distributors and are thrilled to offer this series. With this collaboration, Zigby promises to be a great educational series for preschoolers. Zigby is an endearing character which will entertain, enchant and delight both parents and children.”
