New Formats from Sparks

STOCKHOLM: Among the formats being presented by Sparks Network are The Truth Game and Tower C.

From SBS Korea and represented by Everyshow, The Truth Game is a panel comedy show that aims to find the true person among a group of imposters. Tower C is from BlazHoffski, and is a female comedy sketch show about daily office life.

Just Married, a format from MBC in Korea represented by Everyshow, is a new prime-time offering that looks at eight of the nation’s most elible celebrity singles as they are matched up to live as married couples for at least two days a week. The talent format Wanna Dance from Triangle Productions features kids who compete with the support from a team of professional dancers.

In every episode of DNA: The Last Secret, a Boomerang format, three people trace their roots through a Biological Research Unit. A team of three chefs and a controversial ex-politician are in the center of The Food Emergency, a format from Baluba. The chefs work alongside the regular staff at a school cafeteria while the ex-politician works through the political bureaucracy, lobbying for change.

Sparks is also handling sales for The Interview Game, another Everyshow format for SBS. The show tries to help ordinary people who have a dilemma, but interviewing experts, family and friends to help them come to the right conclusion. The comedy Big Bastard!, a Triangle format, is about a person who has been betrayed by a loved one and the story is reenacted in fictional segments based on actual events.

The Ranch, a drama format from ATM Grupa, follows an American woman who inherits a 100-year-old country manor in a small village in the Polish countryside. From Moskito comes That’s Incorrect, a show in which the host serves as a social mythbuster to tackle politically incorrect statements without prejudices. Also from Moskito, Shit Trip is a comedy show that looks at the hidden beauty of places that people typically don’t go to on vacation.

Honey Bunny is an animated webisode package from ATM Grupa. The show features a young couple who live together in an unidentified time and place, and who also have long, intense disputes. Also with a new-media bent, Underweb is a cross-platform format from TBTV. Users can submit music-related videos and interviews as part of a competition to win a prize, and the main event of the show is a live performance supported by user-generated material.
