ER Names New Chairman

LONDON: Rod Bransgrove, the chairman and founder of Entertainment Rights, is retiring from the company’s board with immediate effect, to be succeeded by Sir Robin Miller.

In October 2008, Bransgrove announced his intention to step down from his position at the end of the company’s financial year. In a statement released today, he said: "I co-founded in 1997 the company that was to become Entertainment Rights plc and have thoroughly enjoyed the process of building a world-class catalogue of entertainment assets. The company now has a portfolio of over 3,600 hours of high-quality children’s and family programming and, in Casper the Friendly Ghost, The Lone Ranger, Postman Pat, Rupert Bear and many other brands, owns some of the best-known children’s characters outside of the major U.S. studios. Having now established a new executive team and a largely reconstituted board, I believe the time is right for me to hand over to a new chairman, who was recruited for this purpose. I wish the board and the staff every success in the future."

Sir Robin Miller takes up the post of chairman with immediate effect. He has been deputy chairman since July 2008 and was formerly chief executive and chairman of Emap.
