SevenOne Scores Strong Fiction Sales at MIPCOM

MUNICH, October 23: A raft
of deals were closed for SevenOne International’s slate of fiction titles at
MIPCOM, including 40 countries signing up for the disaster film Gaping Abyss.

Among the countries that
took on the rights to Gaping Abyss were
France, Japan, Russia and Thailand. The war film The Bridge was sold to a total of 25 countries, including the
U.K.

Aftermath: Population
Zero
notched up sales in nearly 50
countries, including Australia, China, Finland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands,
Russia and Sweden. SevenOne also signed agreements for TV-movie packages with
broadcasters in the French-speaking regions of Belgium, Canada and Switzerland,
while the remake rights to the romantic comedy series Mythological X went to Greece.

Jens Richter, the managing director of SevenOne International,
said: "MIPCOM 2008 showed that there continues to be strong demand for
high-quality fiction productions. There is great interest in event productions
like The Bridge, while at the
same time TV buyers are also looking for the full range of feelings for their
programming. Disaster movies like Crash Point: Berlin do just as well as feel-good TV from our TV-movie
packages."
