Managing Director Named for Endemol Portugal

HILVERSUM, August 29: Lurdes
Guerreiro has been appointed as managing director of Endemol Portugal, which
has been commissioned by SIC to produce a local version of the format Wipeout.

Guerreiro has been with
Endemol Portugal for more than nine years, joining in 1999 as an executive
producer and becoming creative director in 2003. Her responsibilities have
included overall management of Endemol Portugal. She has overseen local
productions of formats such as Big Brother, Star Academy, Who
Wants to Be a Millionaire? and Circus
of the Celebrities.

Wipeout has now been picked up by 18 countries after
launching this June in the U.S. Other upcoming productions in Portugal include
80 episodes of Wheel of Fortune,
which launches on September 8 on SIC, and a dance competition show for RTP,
which is expected to be announced soon.

Marco Bassetti, the COO of
Endemol, said: “Lurdes has already proven that she is the right person for the
job. Under her management Endemol Portugal has had an extremely successful year
and I’ve every confidence that the company will continue to grow with her at
the helm.”
