Documentary Channel Names Chairman of the Board

NASHVILLE, April 30:
Documentary Channel (DOC) has appointed James J. Ackerman as the chairman of
the board, sharing in the development and overall strategic, distribution and
financial direction of the network.

Ackerman comes to DOC with
more than 20 years of experience in the media industry. He has held positions
as the CEO of British Interactive Broadcasting, the CEO of OpenTV Corp. and
founded Spinnaker Media in 2005. Ackerman also previously held the role of VP
of international for A&E Television Networks, where he was responsible for
the launch of The History Channel in the U.K. and Latin America.

leading a number of successful international media companies, as well as his
in-depth knowledge launching innovative entertainment services and
technologies, will be a great asset to our growing company,” said Tom Neff, the
