SevenOne Brings 50-Plus New Shows to MIPTV

MUNICH, April
2: SevenOne is heading to Cannes next week with more than 50 new titles across
the TV movie, series, mini-series and entertainment genres, led by event TV
specials like Aftermath: Population Zero, using CGI to paint a portrait of what would
happen if humans disappeared from earth.

The mini-series
Bible Code is a
German-French co-production, in which a young woman fights a murderous scheme
against the Pope. It has been sold into 15 markets prior to its completion,
including Hungary, Thailand and Indonesia.

Also on offer
on the events slate are the family entertainment movie Don Quixote and the catastrophe movies Heat Wave and Aftermath: Population Zero.

On the series
front, there’s Innocent,
in which a young attorney reopens the cases of people unjustly convicted of
criminal acts, while in Special Unit, a dedicated team of cops fights organized crime.
The Sat.1 series has clocked up deals with France, Italy, Russia and Japan,
among other markets, and is heading into a second season. In 17, a normal teenager turns to violence,
drugs and abuse when she turns 17. Other titles available are the award-winning
Dr. Psycho and the
sitcom Playing the Game.

In other
genres, there’s the family entertainment show Battleship, based on the world-famous board game,
with two teams competing against each other in real boats and giant pools. Other
titles include the mini-series Sea of Lies, the multiplatform-cable animation DOL, the reality series Once in a
Lifetime
and the
magazine-style daytime series We Are Family.

SevenOne will
also be touting some upcoming events at the market, including The Final Days, a historical thriller; the anti-war
movie The Bridge;
the adventure two-parter The Sea Wolf and the catastrophe movie Gaping Abyss.

Jens Richter,
the managing director of SevenOne International, noted: "We have an
excellent line-up of programming in all genres and will be presenting programs
that have the potential to be international TV best-sellers. With high-quality
event productions like Bible Code and crime series like Innocent, our portfolio has proven to be very
successful all over the world. Shows like Battleship" are innovative concepts that work
everywhere."
