TCM to Premiere New Gone with the Wind Doc

LONDON, February 28: TCM
(Turner Classic Movies) in the U.K. will roll out Gone with the
Wind—The Making of the Musical
,
featuring a behind-the-scenes look at a new British theatre musical adaptation
of the classic 1936 novel by Margaret Mitchell.

A TCM camera crew will
have exclusive access to the new production right up until the opening night of
Gone with the Wind at the New
London Theatre in the West End on April 22. The making of the musical will also
include interviews with the show’s director, Sir Trevor Nunn; Darius Danesh,
who has been cast as Rhett Butler; and Jill Paice, who will play Scarlett
O’Hara. Other members of the cast and crew will also be talking on-camera about
their experience and involvement, while viewers will get a glimpse into the
rehearsals. TCM delves even further behind the scenes, filming the office buzz,
the marketing campaign meetings and the photo shoots.

Gone with the
Wind—The Making of the Musical

will premiere on April 20 at 1 p.m. on TCM in the U.K., following the broadcast
of the film version at 9 a.m.
