Sundance Channel to Premiere Canadian Mini-Series

NEW YORK, February 22: Terminal
City
, a Canadian ten-part
mini-series, will debut on Sundance Channel on March 6 at 9 p.m.

The drama/dark comedy
tells the story of Katie Sampson, a loving wife and mother. When a mammogram
confirms a lump in Sampson’s breast, she heads to the hospital for a
biopsy—and walks straight into a live broadcast of Post Op!, a flailing reality TV show. Katie's star quality
is immediately apparent and within days the telegenic housewife is hosting her
own daytime program on the Acetylene Network. Sampson’s celebrity and illness
accelerate in tandem, and the members of the Sampson family find their own ways
to cope with a terribly uncertain future.

The series first premiered
on Canadian television in October 2005. Terminal City was created and written by Angus Fraser; the
directors are Rachel Talalay, Kari Skogland, Lynne Stopkewich and Stephen
Surjik. The series stars Maria del Mar, Gil Bellows, Paul Soles, Katie Boland
and Jane McLean. Following its March 6 premiere on Sundance, the hour-long
episodes will air weekly.
