Strike Impact: ProSiebenSat.1

MUNICH, January 25: Rüdiger Böss, the senior VP of group programming acquisitions at ProSiebenSat.1 Group, will be looking to completed-run U.S. series and reruns to fill any possible schedule gaps.

The German broadcasting group has the rights to a number of American dramas, among them Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, Lost, Criminal Minds, NCIS, Without a Trace, Ghost Whisperer and Numb3rs. Böss notes that with the dubbing process taking about six months, the new seasons of those shows have not yet started airing in Germany. As such, “we have from every returning show or a few new ones [including Gossip Girl] 10 to 12 episodes each.”

Should ProSiebenSat.1 run out of episodes before the strike ends, Böss says that shows like Eureka, with completed seasons available, will be an option, along with reruns.
