Bravo Plans New Reality Series Spin-Off

NEW YORK, January 15: Following on the success of Bravo’s The
Real Housewives of Orange County,
the
network has unveiled plans to roll out a spin-off series, titled The
Real Housewives of New York City,
beginning
March 4 at 11 p.m.

Following its premiere, the show will then head to its
regular time slot, Tuesdays at 10 p.m. The new series will follow an elite and
powerful set of five New York socialites as they balance their careers and home
lives with their fast-paced social calendars. Among the women are Alex McCord,
a high-powered career woman with two children, a husband and a busy social
life; Bethenny Frankel, a single socialite with a burgeoning career and a
wealthy Wall Street boyfriend; Jill Zarin, the wife of successful entrepreneur
Bobby Zarin and a regular on the NY social scene; LuAnn de Lesseps, a real-life
Countess; and Ramona Singer, who owns her own business, a jewelry line, a
clothing line and is developing a skin care line as well.

“This series will explore the personal and professional
lives of five ambitious women who in the upper crust of New York,” said Frances
Berwick, the executive VP of programming and production at Bravo. “The Real
Housewives of Orange County
continues to
thrive and this series will explore many of the same relatable
issues—relationships, children, and work-life balance—while giving
a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to make it in the privileged world of
Manhattan society.”

The show is produced by Ricochet Television, with Jennifer
O’Connell and Nick Emmerson as executive producers and Lenid Rolov and Kirsty
Robson as co-executive producers.
