Miranda to Spearhead NBCU’s Channel Expansion in Asia

SINGAPORE, December 14: Following NBC Universal’s
acquisition of Sparrowhawk Media in October, Raymund Miranda, currently the
managing director of Global Networks in Asia, has been tapped to lead the
company’s integrated channels operation in the region.

Andrew Hanna, the managing director of Sparrowhawk Media in
Asia Pacific, will leave the company at the end of January to pursue new
opportunities. Miranda will lead the launch of commercial operations for Global
Networks in Asia and drive NBC Universal’s channels relationships in the
region.

Roma Khanna, the president of NBC Universal Global Networks,
commented: “Asia is a high priority focus for NBC Universal’s Global Networks
and Raymund is set to lead a highly dynamic growth operation in the region.
Sparrowhawk has overseen a revitalization of the Hallmark Channel in Asia
Pacific and Andrew’s stewardship of the business in the region has been first
class. After the acquisition of Sparrowhawk Media, we committed to an efficient
and carefully considered integration of the business into NBCU and with
Andrew’s help, we have met that plan, whilst retaining the terrific profile
that the Hallmark Channel has in the region.”

Added Hanna: “Working with the Sparrowhawk team to acquire
and revitalize the business has been a great journey and one that produced very
positive outcomes. The Hallmark Channel has a strong and loyal female audience
in over 20 countries across region. With new investments in programming and
marketing over the last few years, the channel viewership is in great shape. To
ultimately integrate the business into NBCU after the acquisition has been a
terrific closure to an all-round successful venture.”

Miranda concluded: “Andrew has provided excellent leadership
to the rise of the Hallmark Channel in Asia and I am pleased to inherit the
rewards of his successful legacy, with a highly skilled team and a strong,
highly renowned channel brand. I look forward to building upon his success in
leading Global Networks to even more prolific growth in Asia.”
