Southern Star’s Water Rats to Air on FX UK

LONDON, August 23: Fox
International Channels has acquired the Australian police drama series Water
Rats for FX in the U.K. from
Southern Star International.

The 177×1-hour drama
series, set in Sydney, is a high-suspense, fast-moving look into the workings
of an elite band of water police and the city’s sinister crimes that they must
cope with.

Rats is a high quality drama that
also delivers volume so we’re delighted to have closed the deal,” said Jason
Simms, the VP of global acquisitions for Fox International Channels (UK). “It’s
also been great dealing with Southern Star who have worked with us to help the
transition into new media.”
