A. Smith & Co. Bolsters Staff

LOS ANGELES, October 8:
Alan S. Winter has been named senior VP of production for the unscripted
programming outfit A. Smith & Co. Productions.

In his new role, Winter
will oversee the day-to-day production activities for the company’s programs.
Winter will report to Arthur Smith, the CEO and founder of A. Smith, and Kent
Weed, the president of the company.

Winter has worked with A.
Smith & Co. in various capacities, overseeing their productions of I
Survived a Japanese Game Show
, Trading
Spaces
, Crime Scene University, Sports Unfiltered with Dennis Miller and a Harlem Globetrotters Special. Winter has previously produced, directed and
written shows for ABC, NBC, FOX, FX and ESPN.

In a joint statement,
Smith and Weed said: “Alan brings an immense amount of experience and success
to the A. Smith team. His knowledge of creating both scripted programming and a
keen understanding of how to cover live events makes his skill set ideal for
overseeing the day-to-day production activities for our shows. In the reality
business you want to go to camera not only with a great concept and subject,
but also with an executive that can handle the fast pace, and ever-evolving
nature of what unfolds, and Alan is such an executive.”
