New Marketing VP for BBC Worldwide Sales

LONDON, October 8: BBC
Worldwide Sales & Distribution has appointed Clare Vincent to the newly
created position of VP of marketing, effective next month.

Vincent will be
responsible for setting the overall strategic vision for marketing BBC
Worldwide’s distribution business around the world, encompassing presales and
post-sales. She will report to Steve Macallister, BBC Worldwide Sales & Distribution’s managing director, and
Helen Kellie, BBC Worldwide’s director of marketing.

Vincent was previously
director of marketing at Granada International, where she led all marketing
activity for the business, including brand rollouts, trade events, market
intelligence and strategy. More recently, Vincent acted as marketing consultant
to Target Entertainment Group, and also set up creative agency, CreativeVerve,
delivering marketing campaigns to media companies.

“Our distribution business
is influenced by many dynamics including a vast catalogue, a significant number
of global brands, an expanding client base and an increasingly sophisticated
approach to windowing,” Macallister said. “We have a great deal of marketing
strength at BBC Worldwide—Clare’s focus will be to take the long view and
develop an overarching marketing strategy that supports our business and
franchise portfolio as we keep growing.”

Vincent said: “I’m very
excited to be joining BBC Worldwide in this role. Its catalogue is one of the
richest and broadest in the world and I can’t wait to work with the existing
teams to help turn these great television programs into must-see television
around the world.”
