ZDF Enterprises Acquires Stake in Bavaria Fernsehproduktion

MAINZ, July 9: ZDF Enterprises has secured a 50-percent
stake in German production outfit Bavaria Fernsehproduktion from Bavaria Film.

Terms of the deal were not announced, with ZDF noting only
that it shelled out “several million euros” for a stake in the company, formed
during a reorganization at Bavaria Film in February this year. It handles the
bulk of Bavaria’s television production work out of Munich. Alongside the ARD
series Marienhof and Storm of
Love
, the company has also produced ZDF
programs such as The Rosenheim Cops
and Inga Lindström.

Alexander Coridass, the president and CEO of ZDF
Enterprises, commented: "We are very pleased to announce this strategic
partnership with one of Germany's most renowned production companies. This is a
logical further step in the diversification of ZDF Enterprises' portfolio of
partnerships and an extension of the production expertise we are able to offer
our partners.”
