Superstars of Dance Gets New Rep

LOS ANGELES, January 19: Superstars of Dance, the new reality competition series from Simmon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe, the team that brought you American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, will be represented worldwide by ShineReveille International.

The first offering from Big Red 2 Entertainment, the new production company from Fuller’s 19 Entertainment and Lythgoe, Superstars of Dance has already been sold to Australia’s Nine Network, South Africa’s MNET and Ireland’s TV3. Hosted by Michael Flatley (Lord of the Dance), the series pits the professionals of various dance genres from eight countries—Ireland, India, the U.S., Argentina, China, Russia, South Africa and Australia—against each other. The show recently debuted on NBC in the U.S. to strong ratings.

"I couldn’t have wished for a better result for our new company than a hugely successful program that I loved making," said Lythgoe, who is an executive producer.  "You couldn’t ask for a show better suited for the international marketplace than Superstars of Dance," added Chris Grant, the president of ShineReveille International. "Its entire premise is international competition, and there’s nothing else like it on TV right now. Add to that the fact that no one does big, event reality shows better than Nigel and Simon, and you have the perfect global hit."
