Disney Scores Online VOD Deal in Australia

HONG KONG, June 18: Disney-ABC International Television
(Asia Pacific) has entered into a multiyear video on demand agreement with
BigPond, the leading broadband Internet service provider in Australia.

This is The Walt Disney Company’s first online VOD movie
deal in Australia. With it, customers of BigPond’s Movie Downloads service will
be able to access current and library features from Walt Disney Pictures,
Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures and Miramax Films, on-demand on a
download-to-rent basis. Starting in July, recent titles that will be made
available include The Wild, The
Guardian and The Invincible, alongside Chicago, Pearl Harbor, Signs, 102
Dalmations, and Treasure Island, among others.

BigPond launched BigPond Movies, Australia’s first legal
movie downloads service, 12 months ago.
