Reed MIDEM Releases Final Numbers for MIPTV Featuring MILIA

PARIS, May 3: A total of 13,311 people participated at MIPTV
featuring MILIA, a 9-percent increase on 2006, marking the event’s highest-ever
attendance record.

The number of companies attending also climbed to a record
4,532 from 104 countries, representing an 8 percent rise on last year's 4,192
companies from 96 countries. The number of buyers was up 7 percent, to 3,816.
"The continued success of MIPTV featuring MILIA reflects the growing
importance of content for the audiovisual industry," said Paul Johnson,
the director of the television division for Reed MIDEM. “Of particular note was
the strengthened participation of Asian countries, new technology companies and
the mobile and advertising sectors."
