MTV Latin America Launches New Animated Series

MIAMI, February 12: MTV Latin
America has launched Forrito, Sex Police, a new comedic animated series from Canada’s Comet Entertainment about
sexual responsibility, as part of
the channel’s “Sexy Month” theme.

The 13×30-minute series that
premiered last night stars a condom named Wrappy who sets up a team of special
agents called the “Sex Police” to fight against a lack of sexual responsibility
and to solve bizarre cases of unprotected sex that take place in Temptation
City. The series, a co-production between Comet Entertainment and Spain-based
Paneka Animaestudio, began as a Flash-animated cartoon on the Internet.

“In your average TV channel you
get a muscle-built, stereotypical super-hero fighting evil, but on MTV you get
Forrito, a super condom who fights sexual boredom and all kinds of sexual
mischief,” explained Jacqueline Cantore, the VP of programming at MTV Latin
America. “We are certain that this
playful animation will arouse the interest of our audience, further enhancing
our popular Animatosis block and
providing them with hours of humorous sexual adventures, as well as implicit
and explicit messages of sexual awareness.”
