Airey to Keynote Banff

TORONTO, January 26: Dawn Airey, BSkyB’s outgoing managing
director of channels and services, will deliver a keynote address at the Banff
World Television Festival (BWTVF), taking place June 10 to 13 at the Fairmont
Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alberta.

BWTVF CEO Robert Montgomery noted, “Ms. Airey is a dynamic
and visionary industry leader and the perfect person to speak at this year’s
festival.”

Airey’s keynote address will discuss future trends in the
broadcast industry, both in the U.K. and internationally. Event organizers plan
to add a strong British component to this year’s event. A host of commissioning
editors from the U.K. are confirmed to attend, including Jon Plowman, the head
of comedy at BBC Television; Paul Jackson, the director of entertainment and
comedy at ITV; Christina Willoughby, the head of international sales and
co-production at Channel 4 International; Adrian Wills, channel head at UKTV
History and UKTV Documentary; and Catherine Catton, channel head at UKTV Style,
which will be sponsoring this year’s Lifestyle pitch competition. The winning
project at will be presented with a £5,000 cash development prize.
