Burnett To Executive Produce MTV Movie Awards

PASADENA, January 12: Mark
Burnett will executive produce the 2007 MTV Movie Awards, taking place June 3
in Los Angeles, with MTV set to air the event live for the first time.

"Mark has great ideas
and vision for the Movie Awards, and I know he's going to bring some fresh
energy to the show," said Christina Norman, the president of MTV. "I
can't wait to see how his vision comes together to create a one of a kind
experience for the Movie Awards, on television and online."

Working closely with
Burnett for the 16th annual awards is Salli Frattini, who served as
executive producer of the Movie Awards for the past ten years. The event
features categories like “Best Kiss” and “Best Villain.”

"I began my career at
MTV with Eco-Challenge and
worked closely with Salli Frattini on every aspect of that project,” Burnett
said. “I love MTV and I especially love its Movie Awards, so when you combine
MTV, Salli Frattini and movies it was easy to say yes. Adding a live element to
the Movie Awards irreverence and spoofs, it simply means … anything can happen.
Buckle your seatbelts!"
