here! Acquires DL Chronicles

LOS ANGELES, December 6: The premium gay and lesbian service
here! has acquired the worldwide rights to the award-winning series The DL
Chronicles, from creators Quincy Le Near
and Deondray Gossett of 2 Cents Productions.

The network plans to launch the first three episodes this
spring and will be producing up to nine additional episodes in 2007. "This
acquisition is a win-win for here!,” said Mark Reinhart, here!’s EVP of
distribution and acquisitions. “It allows us to continue to bring provocative
and diverse stories about the LGBT community to the LGBT community while
supporting young and emerging talent that serves two of our most important
company mandates."

The DL Chronicles
tells the stories of men of color who by consequence and by choice, live
sexually duplicitous and secret lifestyles. The title of the show stems from
the slang phrase "Down Low", often used for African-American men who
identify as being straight, but secretly engage in sexual activity with men.
