Distraction Inks Asian Representation Deal

MONTREAL, December 5: Distraction, which was showcasing its
titles at the Asia TV Forum last week, has tapped Singapore-based Theatre Red
to represent its catalogue in several key markets in the region.

The firm, headed up by Ian Hogg and Mei Yee Ng, will
represent the Distraction catalogue in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia,
Indonesia, Thailand and India. The company has already begun pitching
Distraction’s shows to broadcasters in those markets, and has received
significant interest in the entertainment news service Hollywood Connection. The company is also looking to produce local
versions of some of Distraction’s formats.

Distraction has flagged Asia as a key growth market for the
company in 2007. Michel Rodrigue, the president and CEO of the company, noted,
“Our goal in 2007 will be to further develop the territories in which we are
already present and to increase our presence in those already emerging.”
