Creator of LazyTown Wins Icelandic EDDA Honour Award

REYKJAVIK,
November 21: Magnús
Scheving, the founder and creator of LazyTown, has received the EDDA Honor Award (Iceland’s equivalent to
the Emmy Awards) by the Icelandic film and television Academy.

LazyTown, the chidlren’s series that promotes
exercise and healthy living has also been nominated in the International category of the Children’s
British Academy Awards, which will be held on November 26th. Last year, the show received the 2005
Icelandic EDDA Award for Production Design.

“It
is such an incredible feeling to have nurtured something which is fast becoming
world-renowned, and it is extremely special to now have been commended in our
home country as well,” says Magnús Scheving. “We are extremely proud of, and
passionate about LazyTown, and thank everyone both in Iceland and abroad who
have worked so tremendously hard on bringing the property to where it is
today.”

LazyTown motivates kids and parents
alike to ‘get up and go’, and features innovative design and unique production
values. The
series is now airing in 103 territories and a second series of 18 episodes of LazyTown is now in post-production.
