Hulu & FOX Order Family Guy Spin-Off Stewie

Hulu and FOX have given a two-season order for Stewie, an animated spin-off of Family Guy that will premiere during the 2027-28 broadcast season.

The series will follow the Griffins’ toddler son as he attends preschool and explores time and space travel.

Seth MacFarlane, who created Family Guy and the new series, will reprise his role voicing Stewie. Kirker Butler, a writer and producer for Family Guy, will serve as showrunner.

MacFarlane will also executive produce for Fuzzy Door Productions, alongside Butler and Kara Vallow. 20th Television Animation will produce the series for FOX and Hulu.

“I’d like to thank FOX for this incredible opportunity, and I’m excited to start pretending I’m collaborating closely with them on the show,” MacFarlane commented.

“I am honored and humbled that Seth, 20th Television Animation and FOX have trusted me with one of the most iconic animated characters in the history of television,” Butler said. “I have known Seth for more than two decades, worked with him on half a dozen projects, and I am hopeful this is the one where he finally learns my name.”

The new show marks the second spin-off of Family Guy, after The Cleveland Show.

Stewie is set to debut on FOX during the 2027-28 season, streaming next day on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally.
