ITV Studios Unveils Diverse MIPCOM Lineup

ITV Studios is bringing a diverse slate of new and returning programs to MIPCOM this year, among them “a formidable slate of non-scripted titles, each one designed to be a must-have for buyers by elevating popular genres with unprecedented access and fresh perspectives,” says Tom Clark, executive VP for global sales and commercial strategy.

Among the factual highlights from the ITV Studios catalog, Operation Dark Phone: Murder By Text provides access to a law enforcement operation targeting criminal gangs through encrypted phone networks.

Extreme Earth, produced by Plimsoll Productions, examines wildlife’s battle for survival in an era of extreme weather, rampant wildfires and overall environmental upheaval, “showcasing the ingenuity and resilience of the natural world,” Clark says.

NFL Classics: After Further Review, from VICE, explores the National Football League’s greatest moments, including iconic plays, game-changing calls and drama.

“These shows highlight a dedication to innovative and creative narratives and premium quality across a broad spectrum of genres,” Clark says.

The factual slate also features Secret Garden, exploring the stories of wild animals living in people’s backyards, and Ages of Ice, following a generation of “Polarnauts” as they explore Earth’s coldest frontiers.

The lineup of formats ITV Studios is presenting at MIPCOM includes Nobody’s Fool, a brand-new quiz show in which the fate of the contestants isn’t determined by how smart they are but by how smart their fellow contestants think they are.

Celebrity Sabotage, from the creators of Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, makes its contestants believe they are competing in a reality game show when in reality, celebrity saboteurs are watching their every move and carrying out missions to disrupt their success.

Worlds Apart, a treasure-hunting series that pairs teens with older adults, and Time is Money, a fast quiz where the cash pot drains with every second, are also part of the formats slate, as is the Love Island spin-off Love Island: Beyond the Villa.

On the drama slate, Frauds stars Suranne Jones and Jodie Whittaker as two con-women pulling off a high-stakes art heist. A Taste for Murder blends crime with food and family drama on the Italian Amalfi coast.

Other dramas on offer from ITV Studios are the spy thriller Betrayal, starring Shaun Evans, and Two Weeks in August, telling the story of a woman who goes on holiday with her family and friends to rediscover joy in her life, only to find that an illicit kiss turns her dream vacation into a nightmare.

“Our MIPCOM slate is built for global appeal, spanning everything from bold formats with mischievous fun to high-stakes premium drama and compelling non-scripted titles,” said Ruth Berry, managing director of global partnerships and president of Zoo55 at ITV Studios. “This exceptional depth and diversity allows us to deliver world-class stories and showcase leading actors and presenters that will resonate with partners around the world.”
